I am so sad for my sweet boy. I am getting ready to head out to the emergency vet.
Last night around 2 am I was taking my allergy medicine before I went to bed. I sat Peyton on a kitchen chair (stupidly!!!). He got excited and squirmed around and fell backwards onto the floor.
This is ALL my fault. I feel so horrible. He cried a little at first, but stopped when I picked him up and comforted him. I took him upstairs and watched him for a while to see how he was. He was hungry, so he ate and drank, then went and laid down. He was not putting any wait on his little leg. It is the rear left leg. He sleeps with mope, so I took him to bed.
This morning he is 100% his usual happy self. Still not putting weight on that leg though.
I am usually smarter than this. I cannot believe I let him sit on that chair by himself. It all happened so fast. But, that is NO excuse. I am to blame. I am sharing in hopes that someone else might read this and not make the same mistake. It only takes a second for an accident to happen.
Please say a prayer that his leg is just tender and not broke. Either way, I'm going to let the ER vet see him. I'll post an update when I get home.
