Hello everyone,

This is all new to us. My daughter just turned 7, and her one and only b-day wish was to have a yorkie. We bumped into a owner with a yorkie, which my daughter just adored at first sight. After that, my little girl's mind was set... she wanted a yorkie ever since then. It took me a while to give in but, with a lot of research and finding the right breeder. We purchased a yorkie for her 7th bday. She decided to name it "YOKIE"! Yokie is now 9 1/2 weeks old.

I have many questions. Many questions that were answered by the vet and breeder but, just wanted to see if there may be other opinions and advice that I could find useful.

What is the best puppy shampoo? I was told to use a tearless/extra gentle puppy shampoo. Any brands recommended? Should conditioner be used at this young age? Can a conditioner or freshening spray be used? How often should i bathe? My breeder suggests once a week and needed and vet says every other week.

I am currently feeding "Yokie" Eukanuba dry puppy food (with very little of warm water and soft canned food (Iams). The breeder had instructed me that changing brands right now is NOT recommended and recommends me to stay on Eukanuba until age 10-12 months. Although, when at Petco the nutritionist had referred me to another natural brand and states that Eukanuba is not a good product. Can anyone give me advice to what I should do?

What are some great treats I could purchase?

How often is it recommended to brush Yokie's teeth? Should I start now?

Is anyone located in Oahu, Hawaii? It would be great to meet other yorkies in the neighborhood? I would love to find a great groomer for Yokie in Oahu, Hawaii too, it would be great if I can get some suggestions to where I could go. But, it'll be a while though until I can bring Yokie out, he has just had his second vaccine out of the four.

Please feel free to add any other suggestions!!!!
