I think the crate thing is fine too, but a solution that worked for us was to actually put a pee pad a the end of the bed if she is pee pad trained. Or provide a way for her to get off the bed to go relieve herself if she has to during the night. We have stairs we have made by our bed so they can get up and down with out injury.
Little puppies have to go more often and cannot always hold it throught the night so the pee pad on the bed actually helped with the housebreaking.
