My little guy HATED it at first too, It was the only time he would growl at mama.
I took him to the groomer to get his face trimmed the first time and she taught me that you simply hold firm to the hair on his chin and don't let go. She assured me that it would only hurt if he pulled his head away so he would instead learn to stay still. I did this and we lived happily ever after. I still do this today if I need his attention, he doesn't pull away and he is a good boy and sits still for grooming, he is now 8 months old. He also lets me brush his teeth using the same method (VERY IMPORTANT) for this small breed. Another thing is you should use lots of healthy treats as rewards for sitting so well during grooming. I use the 100% dried chicken so atleast if I over due it with the treats, they are healthy. The last thing you want is to reward with junk food Best of luck!
