my advice would be to defin not feed her anything new at all and keep her on a regular diet for now. you have prob. come across a food allergy in one of those ceasar mixes and because there were several varieties it will be very hard to pin point what food caused the allergic reaction. i'd go forward with the new vet's benedryl recommendation and dosages and see if that helps and then when she's off the benedryl see if her itching stops too.

little dogs can have a lot of food/environmental allergies. it's never a great idea to switch up their foods and if you ever do it should be done slowly over about a week's worth of mixing and transitioning for their systems to learn to adapt to that change. for now i'd keep her on what her normal food is which i think you said was diamond.

from my experiance with vets and dog food, most vets recommend purina, eukanuba, or science diet. none of these in my personal opinion are quality enough dog foods, and diamond dog food is even less quality of food than purina or science diet.

in the future when her allergy clears up I recommend that you might consider making a very slow transition to a more premium dog food such as Acana, Taste of the Wild, Old Mother Hubbard, Fromm, or something along those lines found in a natural or hollistic pet foods store. Royal Canin for yorkies has a pretty high rating, but some dogs are allergic to the high amounts of corn in it (mine was)

you'll have to be careful with any food switching now, because I believe you may have found a food allergy and won't know what caused it. It could be any number of the ingrediants in those ceasar meals and you may never know what exactly it was.

good luck and i hope she stops those itchies soon.
