Please post if you find a solution - I am having the same ODOR problem! Just "rescued" a 1yr/3mo old female from a breeder that discovered after her first litter that she was not of breeding quality. That was her excuse for having to get rid of her!!! Ella was obviously not around humans much and is very, very timid. She is beginning to open up with us and we can tell she loves her new home! Although I'm sure anything is better than being outside in a cage by yourself in a kennel of barking dogs. She is going to be hard to potty train but I can deal with that. It's the SMELL I cannot stand. When I took her home I assumed it was just kennel smell - NOT. This is not just doggy odor - it permeates around her in about a 3-4 ft diameter and when you touch her the smell stays on your hands sometimes even after washing with soap. The rest of our family does not mind it so much and tolerates it but I can't!! It is just overwhelming to me. I must breathe through my mouth when I pet her or hold her. She is adorable and needs us to take care of her. But there must be a solution because it sounds like this is not normal Yorkie smell according to other posts. This is the first Yorkie I have had. My sweetheart Abby (mini pin-pom) past away last year after 14 unseperable years. Her breath stunk once in a while and rolled in bad things on our farm a few times but cleaning solved it. With Ella, cleaning is not helping at all! Thank you!
