My Westie takes Comfortis with no problems. My vet would not recommend it for Lucy at the time because she was under 5 lbs.
We have had success with her in using Sentinel; but Sentinel does not kill ticks and Comfortis has been shown to kill ticks (though it is not labeled for that).
He has recommended a tick collar to be put on her during our walks in the woods and then taken immediately off. Not sure what I'll do with that advice.
