My yorkies sleeps in the same bed as I do. I have 4 of them and they make great bed warmer in the colder seasons.
In the summer that like to sleep in their crate. I think it is a lot cooler for them in there.
It isn't too late to start putting her in her crate at night by your bed. She will probably cry throughout the night(some yorkies are known to cry for a couple of weeks before they finally stop or the owner gives up) And it is fine to put her in there & put her in the guest room tonight.
