i don't know who said, "they can't hurt him". Over Thanksgiving when Ceeby almost died, I took him to the vet the day after and he asked me if he had fleas and I said yes, but I am treating them. he gave him a SHOT for tapeworms and told me if left untreated they can be fatal to these little dogs. I would not take a chance if I were you but would be at the vet as soon as he reopens after Christmas. I did not even see any worms from Ceeby and his fecal test was negative but he was in such bad shape, the vet thought it was best to go ahead and give him the shot. And yes, they are caused from flea bites.
