Hi Boopster. I used to be a dental assistant. You will be numb from the anesthetic and not feel anything. Once the anesthetic wears off you may feel a bruised feeling (it also depends on your tolerance to pain) from the apico. Follow your dentist's advise regarding pain meds etc. Also, do not eat or drink anything hot while you are still numb because you could burn yourself and not even know it.
