This depends on if you are buying from a responsible breeder. My best advice is to do your homework. Really search out the breeder, and if they are a good breeder they will really research you out as well. I personally would want this, I say go ahead ask questions because I also don't want a sick puppy and the heartbreak that comes along with that.
A responsible breeder will want you to come to their home. They want you to see their living conditions. They want you to meet the parents of the puppy, this alone will give you an idea of what your puppy will be like. But I would want to see this too! I hear too many stories where the so called "breeder" wouldn't allow this or wanted to meet you somewhere with the puppy and that is a big red flag in my book.
