^^^^^ Wonderful advice...

I am glad you found out about the truth of pet stores and puppy mills. Even though those puppies may be in your price range now chances are you will end up paying quadruple that in vet bills. Puppy mill puppies are bred for only the dollar not for the quality of the breed... basically pet store puppies end up costing thousands more because you spend a lifetime trying to keep them healthy. Although, this my look like a cheaper alternative now.. it defiantly is not.

Vet costs are mighty pricey.. I spent 440 on Taycie's spay. They also removed retained puppy teeth. I have spent well over a thousand in Taycie's first year and that is just basic vet care. Not to mention food, toys, beds, blankets, crates, heartguard, flea tick, collars, leash... and there is always the consideration of pet insurance, which for Taycie that is an extra 39 a month.

My best advice would be to save for a quality puppy. In the long run you will be happier if you did. You can always look into rescues and always keep looking at the local shelter. Check daily or even hourly.. It is better to wait for the right dog then to rush into something..
