Animal Smiley 036 Grooming questions

Hey everyone. So after a few visits the the groomers i've decided i wanna attack the grooming myself. BUT.... i have no idea where to start. I've read the pdf here on the site and i've searched the forums and haven't found anything really helpful, so...
*first off, for those who do groom your babies, do you use clippers or scissors or both?
*What is a good clipper set? I'm leaning toward using a clipper set and start with long blades and going shorter to experiment. I keep my babies pretty short but I dont know what sizes of blades the groomer uses. I scissor their feet and hygiene areas already.
* Is there a specific way to groom? ie: different blade sizes for different areas?

that is really all i have right now. i look forward to hearing from the experts out there. maybe a website/video on how to groom would be great (i cant find anything out there that are short yorkies)
