Surely the workers at the shelter know the saw-the-sad-story-on-tv type who react out of true concern but aren't really familiar with what they are getting into and screen for that. Just seems that since this poor little guy has had such a horrible start at the hands of irresponsible humans, he should only be placed in the loving hands of a truly responsible dog lover who can watch and get treatment for possible late-effect problems with the amount of drugs that he had. And no doubt he's been a bit spoiled at the shelter/foster as is his rightful due so he might be a bit of trouble when at first fitting in with his new family. I would just hate to see this dog returned and have to go on the market again, so to speak. That would be an even greater tragedy - essentially thrown away twice. |
