That is what they are: American Cockroaches
Here in TX they call them what they are...roaches. Fl gave them that glorified name...nothing but cockroaches.
BUT...I would still rather live in FL or TX than IL. They have bugs and snakes, too!
Here in the Houston area, we have pretty much the same climate as FL and the same critters....beats the heck out of the cold winters up north!
