palmetto bugs - I've never had one in my house. I think they might be southern Fl's issue?
scorpions - also never seen one!
coral snakes - Garden ho/shovel. 
fire ants - again...touche
gaters - they keep to themselves, unless the snowbirds feed them.
pythons - eek!
banana spiders - I live in the city, so these aren't a prob. I grew up in the groves though, and I can say, do NOT ride a 4-wheeler between rows of orange trees in the morning!!
You choose. I can pay to have someone shovel the snow!

Hahaha...I am such a wimp about the cold!! We go to Ga around the holidays and I am always miserable. I've never seen snow!
I'll take the beach and year-round flip flops.
