Default Making a smooth transition

Hi all! My little one comes home soon, and I have a little question...does anyone think that bringing a small stuffed animal/crate blanket to the breeder and letting her momma have it to leave her scent on it might help with the night crying? My breeder said she isn't sure it would help, but it seems to me it might? I plan to keep her in her crate at night, next to my bed. This is the result of an agreement between DH and myself and our doxie sleeps in his kennel so I feel likes it's only fair. Plus, I woud hate for her to be too far away from me at night and am not comfortable with her in our bed...it's not huge and I don't want her to get hurt! If anyone has any other ideas for the night crying feel free to offer! DH is worried about it, as he is a firefighter and only gets a full night sleep when he is not at work.

On another note, I'd like to say how GRATEFUL I am for this site and all of the wonderful people on it who share their insight and help out new yorkie owners like me to make my baby's homecoming/puppyhood a success! I have spent literally hours reading old threads and stickies and I find this place and you all invaluable. I can't wait to share Whitney's pictures as she grows so you all can see the fruits of your posts. Thank you all!
