That's sad that the pain and suffering isn't considered in such a situation but considering dogs are "property" under the law though...that makes total sense.

Preceding is not to the ppl I quoted below just the previously mentioned above. I see the OP has a history on here for some questionable content post was that what sparked the reactions of some people to this thread because...

wow, some people are really getting rude about this whole situation in their comments to the OP and their whole thing about the dog not being under control...
1.did the OP say how long the leash was?
2.Was the dog straying? To a point of beyond control?
3.How far was the OP from the elevator door?

4. Have any of you turned your back for a moment-were you not in control...did you expect a dog and then a person to accidentally just fall on your dog and kill them?
I get it the person accidentally killed their dog but we are as responsible for our accidents as our intentions...

Elvis was almost stepped on by a lady as we walked down the isle in the pet boutique once...good thing I'm fast...seriously who walks down an isle in a pet store looking straight ahead and doesn't at least see a leash in my hand? Let alone expect a dog to be on an isle in the pet store...? She was all shocked acting when i yelled and grabbed him up...I was so mad...yeah okay it was an accident..I'd have more than held her responsible if she had stepped on my Elvie...was I not in control looking at dog sweaters with Elvis leashed within three feet from me...would that have been my fault...should he have been directly exactly next to me...in my arms...I should have been vigilantly looking around for someone walking by not looking down?
