I'm not a good one for advice. I've always taken mine to bed with me from day one.
I'd just get up and we'd go potty in the middle of the night. After they grew a little, they could hold it all night. Good luck in whatever you do. There really is lots of info on crate training, if that is what you decide to do, in the Training section and lots of people here who have used crate training as their method. How do you like your new puppy by now?
