Honestly, I am in awe of the breeders who will still answer questions here. I'm sure they walk a fine line between wanting to do what's best for the dog and not wanting to encourage breeders who ,either through ignorance or indifference, didn't bother to find out the facts and work with a mentor BEFORE breeding.
I'm sure they have to be sick of the "I wanted to breeder her because my mom/husband/kids/neighbor wanted a free dog/wanted the experience/thought I could make a few bucks threads. None of those are valid reasons for breeding while there are so many unwanted dogs being PTS every year in the U.S.. The 'oops' breedings are just as bad, if not worse IMO, because it's 100% preventable.
Stick around long enough and you will see how many don't even bother to start preparing until it's literally D-day.
Bottom line, an online forum is no substitute for a real life mentor.
