No don't worry about your dog being a pruebred, People who say stupid things don't know!! I have Lilly who until last week, her ears were down. I have been taping them for a long time. And finally I kept the tape on for a week (instead of the normal 4 days and they stood. Some yorkies have heavier or larger ears and need help to stand. At a year I would say that they will probably always stay down, but that shouldn't stop you from trying, if you want them up. If you want to try PM me and I'll try to help.
