Meet Zorro! Silky or Big Yorkie? Hello! I am new to the forum and have a 4 year old dog named Zorro. I've considered him a Silky since we got him at 6 months old, but there is some question...
He was purchased by a young woman from a puppy store in Las Vegas, NV, and was sold as a "teacup yorkie" (eyeroll). She couldn't keep him and took him to the animal shelter, during a time when there was a shelter-wide parvo breakout. The Golden Retriever rescue was there to get any Goldens out of the shelter, and one of the women saw Zorro and took him too. He was never checked into the shelter, the girl was still in line to give him up!
Anyway, long story short, my family was contacted by a woman at the rescue and we ended up with a 6 month old puppy. He was our first dog. I'm a dog groomer, and when I met him, my first thought was "this is a Silky! He's way too big to be a yorkie!".
He's an excellent little dog, with lovely hair that requires little grooming (I keep him in a Schnauzer pattern anyway). He's intelligent, active, and great with my 2 year old son. He's good size, and there's nothing delicate about him. So based on these photos, would you call him a Silky or a big Yorkie? |
