This is a recent email I recieved from Natura Pet Products. Just being nosy and wanted to know more about the relationship with Procter and Gamble. Thought I would share:
Dear Emily,
Thank you for contacting Natura Pet Products. On June 1st, 2010 Natura Pet Products was sold to Procter and Gamble. The sale to Procter and Gamble was just a change in ownership. Natura will operate as a separate business unit under the P&G Pet Care division and continue to be led by Don Scott, President and Chief Operating Officer of Natura.
All products and ingredients are the same today as they were prior to the acquisition. That said, Natura has always, and will continue to upgrade its formulas based on the latest nutritional advancements. We have the same commitment to quality, the same ingredients, the same formulas and the same manufacturing processes.
Our high-quality, natural brands are the same as before the acquisition. Our nutritional philosophy is the same and will remain unchanged. P&G is committed to protecting the superior performance and quality of Natura products. Natura will continue to use whole, real fruits and vegetables and high-quality proteins without compromise. You will continue to see the same high-quality ingredients in all Natura products.
Also, P&G only uses animal testing on products when it is required by the government or when there’s no alternative test available to ensure human safety. This is required for all products, not just products made by Procter and Gamble.
Lastly, P&G is an industry leader in ending animal testing. P&G has invested $160million to date to identify alternative testing methods. P&G works with the FDA and respected animal welfare groups, such as the Humane Society of the U.S., to reform regulations and validate alternative research methods. I strongly urge you to visit
www.iamstruth.com for more information regarding the type of testing they do.
We will continue to celebrate and advance Natura's legacy and nutritional philosophy and maintain Natura's current high standards for product and ingredient quality, food safety and manufacturing excellence. And, we will continue to support the development of a thriving independent pet specialty channel.
Again, thank you for contacting us and we especially thank you for giving us the opportunity to respond to your concerns. If you have any additional questions or concerns, please feel free to email back at your convenience,
