I thought that too about the hand and the submissive pose (I just could not think of the correct term). I sure learned my lesson and I am glad it was not a costly lesson.
The funny part is I am so protective of my shih tuz because he is so protective of me I worry about a fight... them sweet little Remy is the one hurt!!
I am sorry about the problem you had with your neighbor's dog. Was your dog hurt? I see you had to take him to a vet, is he ok now? What are the leash law where you live?
