Max barks at skateboards and bicycles. He is getting a little better with desensitization. Often the kids will leave their things at the side of the road and I tell Max to "check it out." I encourage him to sniff the bike or skateboard. The closer he gets, the more I praise him. When the kids are on the bikes or skateboards, I talk to Max like a goof, "Woowee, look at them playing!" That sort of thing seems to reassure Max that the little ones aren't out to run him over with their strange contraptions.
Mainly I think he dislikes the noise of these things.
With neighbors, Max barks because he wants to go greet them. That will probably never change for him.
