Time, patience, reassurance are first and foremost. Expose her to various people gradually and make everything a positive experience. Enlist friends to do training exercises that allow Tabitha to approach them on her own terms and in her own time. Have the friend stand or sit and remain still. No sudden movements or loud noises, and no staring at her. Do this outdoors on neutral territory. Praise Tabitha for any movement she makes in the direction of the person. Eventually, when she is comfortable with getting a little close to the friend, have the friend toss a really yummy treat, like a tiny piece of boiled chicken. If she takes the treat, praise her, "good girl!" Be happy, but don't scare her by exclaiming too loudly.
