Lily doesn't really like topknots. I started putting them in just before going outside so that she will be distracted and forget that its there. I use the silicone bands because they don't tend to pull the hair like the rubber ones in the event that she pulls it out herself. I put bows in when we go out, or if I know I can keep an eye on her at home. We had an incident when she got a barrette out and swallowed it...got her a trip to the vet with xrays & induced vomiting. She still hates when I put it in, I need my daughter to help me usually. She's getting a little more used to it.
