My last yorkie, that I had for 11 years, always wore a topknot. She grew to love having a bath and getting her hair done, because we all made such a big deal about telling her how pretty she was and she'd strut around obviously feeling very proud of herself. I used the little bands that kids use when they have braces. They were tiny & worked great
My new pup's hair isn't yet long enough for a topknot.
I'd just keep putting the topknot back him & praising him & telling him how handsome he looks. Make sure it is not too tight or pulling his eyes.
