We just adopted a two year old boy. He's obviously been groomed in the past, and was very tolerant when I gave him a bath and dried his hair. His bangs are long, but rather than have them cut short again, I'd love to let them grow out and put his hair in a topknot. But when I tred, he immediately rubbed it off. I tried again, same result.

Any advice on how to get him to tolerate a topkot? Are there any particular types of rubber bands that stay in better than others?
