Empty nest here too. Once my son got engaged I knew it would not be long and I would be alone. I pretty much raised my son all his life by myself. I got Jack fist and at that time my son worked the night shift and I worked the day shift. As wedding dates got set and my son planning on moving out I began to worry about Jack being alone during the day while I was at work so I got Josie to keep him company. My son moved out in Oct 2010 that didn't seem to be bad. I could go to his house when-ever and visit. Then the big wedding in Dec. 2010 and oh boy things have changed so much. Mother is no longer #1. I don't get those phone calls every day and I don't want to barge in on the newly weds so I don't go over as much so it is just me and Jack and Josie. I love them dearly and I am so glad to have them, I still get the empty nest syndrom often. I have a BF who doesn't live with me but stays most evenings. It is still not the same. Some days I do feel like I am "depressed". But Jack and Josie keep me going cause I know they depend on me to be there for them.
