it took me a little experimenting to figure out the conversions for this. Trying to convert grams to a volume (like 1/4 or 1/2 cup is difficult because 1/2 cup of dog food is not the same as 1/2 cup of say coconut. So I did the easy conversion. I have a postal scale that changes from grams to ouces. I took a bowl and placed it on the scale and zero'd it. Then I added the amount of food I feed mine per day into the bowl. It read 75 grams, so if you are only feeding 1/2 a pack a day, that is 75 grams and he is getting what he needs to just substain his weight. I don't buy that he needs WAY more than the average amount to LOSE weight. Of course that is going to depend on how big he is. If he is a normal sized yorkie.. I don't see how that is going to work. If he was say a lab or other bigger dog, maybe that amount would work. I would ask the vet to explain further unless I am way off on my calculations.
