I agree, never too late to train. You have to do your part and give Taffie ample opportunity to potty in the right place. Never stop giving praise for a good potty. The moment she does her thing, cheer her, "Good girl! Woohoo!" and maybe give a small treat.
Don't scold for accidents and make sure to clean accident sites with an enzyme cleaner to eliminate the scent that will attract her to return to the spot.
