the vet gave me the idea to use peanut butter or "spray cheese" like cheez whiz....when i attempted crate training she'd have me freeze it so she'd have to work harder & longer to get it. i quickly learned that she was so worked up being alone that she wouldn't touch any treat til i got home.
i once tossed her kong & the next day found a perfect circle of pb on my wall.
