Linus has super dry skin and gets dandruff on a pretty regular basis. He also has some allergy problems in the springtime, which only seems to make it worse. The doctor actually prescribed some special medicated shampoo that we use now and it really helps. You have to leave it on him for 10 minutes (which is really difficult), but we manage. I've also heard that oatmeal shampoo also works wonders.
Another good tip, though, is to try to bathe your yorkie less often. Linus loves to play outside, so he seems to get stinky so quick, but now I use waterless shampoo for sensitive skin between baths and it really makes the bath last longer and he's nowhere near as dried out and flaky as he used to be. |
