This is one of the reasons that the YTCA recommends that breeders keep puppies a minimum of 12 weeks. While the dogs may stop nursing much sooner, the mother teaches important things such as "inhibition of the biting reflex." All teething puppies will bite, but a good mama will teach them to control their bites and not bite too hard. Puppy teeth are so sharp and can cause injury if they really give it all they have. Some people suggest making a screeching sound, and saying no. Put her down and giving her appropriate chewing type of stick or teething toy. This is one of the reasons children should be carefully supervised, when a puppy bites they will often drop them, which can cause serious injury. Don't ever hit to punish for this behavior, it will cause an increase in bites and more aggression.
