I am sure her little world has been rocked and she is unsure what is going to happen to her. If she is not sick, she will likely eventually adjust to the new normal but right now she's undoubtedly wondering what happened to her life. Just keep lavishing her with love but try not to show how very guilty you feel or sorry you feel leaving her as she will pick up on that and interpret it negatively. Build her up playing games with her when you can and talk to her all the time with as happy a voice as you can. If possible and you are up to it, teach her some new tricks as this experience seems to somehow someway really help a dog. Tibbe has some old fears and when one of those comes to call, the best way I can distract him is by working with him teaching him a new trick with lots of praise and fun. I know it is hard for both of you now but stay very positive around her. Best wishes and prayers for you and your little lady as she adjusts to her new life. |
