Oh trust me, YT does monitor the "debate" threads more often then let's say a lighter topic thread. It's a given, LOL. As you probably have noticed, most of those "debated threads" you might be referring to are closed now. Also, these thread closings is NOT due to it being a debate, but the inability of some to be able to do so in a positive manner.
I wear those "rose colored glasses" also at times.
