I think it is a great idea. I like to read them (though I choose not to participate when they get ugly) even when they are controversial because they afford us a learning opportunity. Then, those who want to read know ahead of time that they will be controversial if they know ahead of time these are "hot topic discussions". Then they can choose to participate or just read and walk away when their emotions get riled up.
