That's terrible. Promising you one thing and then pulling the rug out from under you. The only good news is that person doesn't have the dog anymore. If the new owner is half as caring as you are, the pup's in for a great life.
That happened to me once, but the original owner called back a week later and said he was returned. Turned out to be the best dog I ever owned.
