I *think* they are better than white. Potatoes in general are mainly just a binder for grain-free foods. Something needs to be use to bind the ingredients together and instead of using grains like rice, etc, they use potatoes. I know Natures Variety uses something else... they are one of the few grain free foods to not use potatoes.
