Neighbor used a squirt bottle to discipline her dog...her dog now attacks the kids every summer when they play with squirt gun...wonder how well she thought that through...hmmmmmm aggression training seems to always lead to a fearful or aggressive dog...

Doesn't hurt, surprises him enough to stop the barking and doesn't cost really anything.
I am sure it wouldn't work for all dogs or even for the crazy, frenzied doorbell barking, but it does work if he is reacting to his shadow (or mine) and won't listen to my "quiet" command.
