My dogs get the sentinel which is the heartworm/flea pill. The flea part actually steralizes the flea so they can't reproduce. Well, when my dogs had their recent checkup my vet was telling me there is a new product out there and it is called something about the "trifecta." It is heartworm/flea prevention. We don't currently have a flea problem, so I didn't opt for the treatment, but it might be something to look into. The new product I think, controls heartworm, steralizes the flea just by contact, and if they bite the dog it kills it, hence trifecta. Now, that was a couple of weeks ago so someone may want to help me out here, or do a little more research on it, but if I had a flea problem, I think this is what I would look into a little more.
