Do you have any nutrical or HONEY on hand?? The only thing I can think of when they shake is that their blood sugar is low...but then you say he cries out when he lays down...did he fall or hurt a leg??

My Tulip pulled a leg muscle a few weeks ago..and she was shaking and wouldn't lay still either....and our vet was closed...of course...anyhow I put her on a heating pad...put it on warm...then gave her baby aspirin...you can give 1 mg. per POUND... twice a day..for short periods of time(you need to crush it and roll it in a small piece of cheese) ...anyhow...by the time my vet office opened up...she was back to normal...not limping or anything!! It might make him more comfortable till your vets office opens up.
