If by some chance that this is real, then I hope to heck the OP gets off her backside and takes the dog in to the vet rather than playing telephone tag. If a vet is truly so blase about whelping, then they need to have their license yanked. Every barrel has it's bottom...

I reluctantly came on this thread at the request of Nancy. It's been damned if you do and damned if you don't lately, so I've been very aprehensiveon offerring advice as of late.
Threads such as this one always leave me sick to my stomach.
