That's exactly what I was thinking when I watched the show. He spends the night with Chantal, and then RUNS to meet Emily the next morning, and that evening says he's falling in love with her. No doubt he enjoys Chantal, and I really believe he really liked her family, but I think Chantal in some ways perplexes him, he seems lost when women get emotional and he's responsible for those feelings. Emily has never shown any negative emotions towards him, he can handle her emotions of sorrow from losing her first love because she's ready to "move on." I really think he's picking Emily, and all those spoilers were put out to throw everyone off guard. I mean he's shown from the beginning that he's head over heals, and treats her much differently than the other girls, always wanting to reassure her that she's important to him. The other girls have had to pull it out of him, but Emily just smiles. I can't imagine this relationship lasting, but maybe "stability" is the most important thing to Emily, not fun and excitement.
