Thank you all for the input. The puppy has not been paid for - which is another problem. Do not do business with friends! - I should have learned.
I love these puppies and plan to cover the additional cost for her hernia repair. Like someone said; There is no way of knowing if the hernia was a birth defect or caused from an injury. I have never seen this in one of my pups, and my health guarantee covered "serious hereditary diseases" of which a hernia is not.
