It's been ages since I have been on but I need your help. Sadie has LP in both of her back knees. In Dec she got very sick and after 4 vet visits and an overnight stay for meds and fluids (and $700) we finally knocked out the intestinal infection. Late last week we noticed the beginning signs again. She scoots and then holds her leg up and limps around, she also would not potty. back to the doc we go and we have found out that the LP she has has gotten worse and she won't go potty b/c it hurts thus causing the infection. Our vet recommend surgery. My husband took Sadie to an ortho specialist this morning and he wants to do surgery today on both knees. He also thinks she has torn her ACL in one knee thus the extreme behaviors we have been seeing lately.

I have not researched LP surgery recovery and the vet is saying she will need to be confined for 6 weeks!!! I'm terrified!!! Also she sleeps with us and our other 2 yorkies and I don't know how i'm going to keep her safe for healing but seperate them from her especially at night!

Please give any advice, do's and don'ts that you may have!!!
