Whatever you decide - its your decision to make. I wish you all the luck in rehoming the puppy. I think that the breeder is not responding to you because there is no way that the puppy gained a pound and a half in one week. The breeder can't be the greatest either - because she never should have sold you the puppy and let him leave that early - 8 weeks is way too early!
