OMYorkie! I keep all art supplies in a roller cart (pens pencils, markers, crayons, paints, SAFETY SCISSORS in the top small drawers, and paper and craft stuff in the bottom two larger) ya know one of those clear plastic on wheels deals with four drawers you get them at Target Kmart etc...

Hope you consider making the necessicary safety measures and really talk to your child about animal treatment and care-I had to teach my son to back off when he freaked out a lady for spraying her dog with a water bottle-he told her she needed to know better than to treat him like that-he was 4 then
