Have you tried supplementing oatmeal for the rice. My pup has IBD and she gets oatmeal with just about every feeding. To make a long story short, it contains fruto-oligosaccharides. This is a fiber which feeds the flora of the large intestine and helps to maintain a homeostatic environment, while adding consistency and bulk to the feces. I mix plain cooked Irish oatmeal in with her raw and it has been a huge help in keeping her GI tract healthy. |
